Comment is the King’s College London staff newsletter. Available from all five campuses, it is aimed at the College’s 5,000 members of staff and 18,000 students, as well as benefactors and friends.
I oversaw a complete redesign of Comment and the adoption of a new A3 format.
In preparation for this, I ran an online survey in January via the Staff Ezine, asking colleagues to suggest improvements.
Some of the suggestions included more imaginative photos and the inclusion of forthcoming events. The new design incorporated these suggestions and others revealed by the survey.
The increased use of high-quality photography and illustration gives Comment a more contemporary look and feel, while the larger format offers the text more space to breathe.
I worked closely with the Corporate Design Unit and external designers Esterson Associates to achieve the new look, which received extremely positive feedback.
